At Pony Pals Therapeutic Riding Association, our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional diagnoses through horse-related therapies in an empathetic and respectful environment.
Nurturing the learning process to ensure every rider recognizes that their capabilities are truly unlimited.
Providing an non-waitlisted intake model so local families receive crucial therapeutic support without administrative delays.
Pony Pals Therapeutic Riding Association began in 2008 with a small team and a huge dream: one coach, one volunteer, one special pony, and three extraordinary students. Our goal was simple, to make equine therapy accessible to anyone who needed it.
Over the past 18 years, that dream has become a reality. Thanks to the generosity of the Chahal family, thousands of volunteer hours, and unwavering community support, we built our dream home on the scenic shores of Boundary Bay.
Today, Pony Pals serves over 200 families every year. Our dedicated team of 12 staff members and more than 80 volunteers work alongside 18 therapy horses, as well as our resident mini goats, donkeys, chickens, and ducks!
We are deeply grateful for how far we’ve come, and we are excited for everything the future holds as we continue empowering riders of all abilities.
We focus on the person first and the diagnosis second. By blending structured riding goals with gentle horse interaction, we help riders of all abilities discover what they are truly capable of achieving. We keep our environment welcoming, empathetic, and flexible so every family feels right at home.
This work is a true team effort. From guiding horses in the arena to supporting riders step-by-step, our passionate staff and devoted volunteers make our mission a reality. Pony Pals would not exist without their tireless dedication to our herd and community.
