Whether you are a parent looking for riding lessons, a potential volunteer wanting to lend a hand, or a donor supporting our farm in Delta, BC here are quick answers to our most common questions.
Please reach us at info@ponypals.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We support children and individuals with a wide range of physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. This includes autism, cerebral palsy, anxiety, sensory processing needs, and physical mobility challenges. We tailor every lesson to meet each rider right where they are.
Riders must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes or boots. For safety, approved riding helmets are required during all lessons. If you do not have a helmet yet, we have helmets available at the barn for you to borrow.
Not at all! While horse experience is helpful for roles like Horse Leading, we have roles for everyone. Beginners can start as a Side-Walker (walking alongside riders for safety) or help with general farm caretaking. We provide full orientation and hands-on safety training for all new volunteers.
We use an online volunteer portal called Better Impact. Once you complete a quick online application, you can view open shifts, pick dates that fit your schedule, and track your volunteer hours.
