Therapeutic & Adaptive Riding at PPTRA is designed for children, youth, and individuals with physical, cognitive, or emotional diagnoses. Combining mounted riding lessons with equine horsemanship, our certified coaches tailor every session to meet each rider's specific physical and developmental goals.

Therapeutic riding is a widely accepted, medically approved method focused on improving the physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of individuals with diverse abilities.
Beyond structured riding lessons in our arena, riding provides independence from artificial mobility aids (such as wheelchairs or crutches), allowing riders to experience movement, recreation, and achievement across pastures, dirt tracks, and sensory farm trails.
Funding Options: Families may be eligible to utilize Autism Intervention Funding (AIF) or other local community funding to subsidize program costs. Please confirm eligibility with your funding manager prior to intake.
Attire Required: Long pants (jeans or leggings) and closed-toe boots/shoes with a small heel. Certified riding helmets are required (available at the barn to borrow).
