Horses are truly the heart of our program at Pony Pals Therapeutic Riding Association. These magnificent therapy horses serve as the strong backs that carry our riders toward their physical milestones, providing the listening ears that help participants build communication and social confidence. Their warm, gentle presence not only reduces anxiety but also promotes mindfulness. At PPTRA, located in Delta, BC, we exist as an inclusive sanctuary that revolves around these incredible animals. Our life-changing work would not be possible without the support of equine sponsorship and our four-legged partners.

Our hardworking therapy horses, part of the Pony Pals program, require dedicated care and attention to thrive. To keep them in peak physical and emotional health, we carefully manage their nutrition, veterinary care, farrier work, exercise, and pasture quarters. It takes roughly $4,000 to $6,000 per year, per pony for basic feed, specialized supplements, farrier trims, and ongoing health care, which can be supported through equine sponsorship.

Sponsorship plays a crucial role in covering the essential, ongoing costs that allow us to keep our non-waitlisted programs accessible to families across Greater Vancouver. Equine sponsorship offers a flexible approach and can take various forms: 

An Individual Sponsor: Dedicate a gift to your favorite therapy horse or one of our beloved Pony Pals. 

A Group Sponsorship: Team up with friends, family, a coffee group, or co-workers to make a collective impact. 

A Partial Sponsorship: Contribute any amount toward feed, vet, or hoof care—every little bit truly makes a meaningful difference!
